The Social Consortium GOEL was born in 2003, after a journey of 10 years of animation and enterprise creation accomplished with Mons. Bregantini , the "Sociale Pastorale and the Lavoro "of the Diocesi of Locri Gerace.
GOEL aspires to be and organized system serving the people, able to oppose itself to the powers of death that control the territory. Its mission is “the change of Locride and Calabria”, in the belief that every ethical proposal is not enough for it to be right but it has to become also effective!
Mainly social cooperatives of type “A” and “B”, operative in the Locride and in the Piana of Gioia Tauro, compose the Consortium. The first type of cooperatives deal with the supply of services to the underprivileged sector of the population, the second ones are operating companies, democratically managed, where a part of the members and workers are disadvantage people.
The name “GOEL” has biblical roots; it means “the redeemer”, to highlight the function of liberation and redemption that the Consortium intends to accomplish for its land, and especially for the people who are less autonomous and who have very little power.
Today the GOEL Consortium is organized in Cooperative GOEL Group, made from the same Consortium and from GOELBIO and MADE IN GOEL, cooperative social associations created for the purpose of managing specific sectors of activity.
MADE IN GOEL manages for GOEL the brand Cangiari. It collects GOEL’s social cooperatives involved with the production and marketing of the products of the Cangiari brand.
